here's lspci's output. The problem has kind of evolved. The shutdown now
hangs with the exact same message, but now it's waiting for vmnet1
instead of eth1, even if I haven't used vmware in that on/off cycle, and
if I haven't (knowingly) used vmnet1.

I had a similar problem. I ran the update and after the reboot the X
server would not start. /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows what is below. I
have an Nvidia 8800gts 640mb with Nvidia binary drivers. After
reinstalling the Nvidia driver, everything works now.

When I create a UML file, create a big package with two classes (a SuperClass
and a Class) . When I run the command

the program did not complete the generation. I think the dia2code do not
The only thing I can suggest now, is to try to narrow it down. Next time this
happen open up a terminal and type "sudo cat /dev/input/mice"; if by pressing
mouse buttons you see an output, at least we know it really is X, otherwise it
is the kernel/hardware.
Try also, if you can, /dev/input/mous
Taking for retrace.

correct colormap.
