The information from 'sudo lspci -vv' and 'sudo lspci -vvn' will not
change significantly if you are running a different version of Ubuntu.
So it would still be worthwhile if you could add that information to

I really want to fix this for Feisty. If a general Python fix is deemed
too risky, I can alternatively put that new subprocess module into
apport. That will leave other applications to the same trap, though.

I believe the same crash happened. All my mailboxes are IMAP and I guess
the problem comes from the junk mail checker : during startup, I have 3
IMAP + 1 IMAPS mailboxes automatically checked. I configured them so as

(During updates installation).

laptop does not detect changes in power source (for example, when AC
adapter added/removed). There is also some weird fan behavior.

I'm trying to remember... It may have been KPPP in Kubuntu Herd 4 that gave
this message. Somewhere I was able to watch what the reason for the
disconnects were and it was reported as exit status 16 "modem hung up".
The symptoms were the same in Kubuntu Herd 4 or Ubuntu Herd 4 or 5 though

and reboot works now.
