With 'noapic nolapic irqpoll' option the feisty H5 install CD works ONLY when
SATA enhenced mode is choosen on BIOS.

This is bug #29050, a workaround is to add "ppdev" to /etc/modules and

I created and added the desktop file (debdiff is attached). The package
builds and installs correctly (under edgy). Please note that:
- I did not update the standards version (from 3.6.2 to 3.7.2)
- I did not change the maintainer field in "control" (should be Stefan?)

Since nautilus loops, there's no exact good point for me to get a
backtrace. What I did is reproduce the problem (right now the Desktop
will show fine, but trying to resize its window will hang Nautilus), and
then "kill" it with SIGTERM.

I just tried removing the apt version of vim and installing from source,
and the results are that this makes no difference. I'm pretty sure that
my new source-install is not picking up any of my old apt configs, as I
purged all of my vim packages before compiling:

we cannot do this for ubuntu until mozilla project does (as we are using
their trademark) ... please ask debian maintainers to do this for ice*
applications. I guess that should be doable ... and maybe at some point
ubuntu will ship those apps from universe as well.

Now it works.
I am using a different harddisk, manual in the partition manager appears and
lets me partition the disk.
The not working disk is a Hitachi Travelstar 20GB 4200 rpm Model
IC25N020ATCS04-0 from March 03. The disk seems to be ok when using a different
OS.

today I had a random crash.
This was a longer running firefox, had just done lots of youtube watching, but
I had closed all tabs.
I clicked on 2 links in thunderbird (external links opening in firefox)
one of those was youtube.
The first tab displays completely, the second tab (youtube) is load
