crashes, so instead here is the initial crash file and a basic run of

I got this same error in edgy, trying to install from vmware-player-
kernel-source while running a custom kernel. Didn't try the workaround.
I just installed the vmware-player package and the source package from
synaptic, then went into the source directory and ran make-kpkg.

Thanks! I found that hidden away... Now, everything works just fine!
However, I think it's really possible to make the sound tools in
Ubuntu Gnome a little more "understandable". I really don't think that
all the Capture Mux, PCM etc etc should be possible for a common user
to access in the Volume
I added flashplugin to this and lets see what the flash people say to be
sure.

Can you please start session without beryl and see if you can reproduce
this. also try to reproduce this with beryl and see if it is
reproducible both ways. I am leaning towards a beryl caused crash from
what i was able to extract with retrace.
