I tried with different steps but I am not be able to reproduce the problem,
maybe is correlated to another problem when I ran "apt-get update" I had a
problem with "x11-common, xorg, xserver-xorg" packages because I have a

I'v found my problem, may be it's a solution for you too Richie.
I use my monitor with the dvi port of my graphic card. Or vesa
informations are carrying by the standard vga port, nor the dvi port in
my case.
Changin the ports result in successfully detection of my screen
parameters.

Thanks for looking into this issue Matthias,
I like solution (3) best because it seems to be a small price to pay for
more correctness.
Solution (2) would be good if we had dpkg triggers, but currently we
have no way to register something in Dpkg::Post-Invo
Mike, is this still broken in Herd 5?

totem-mozilla does not play videos with the xine backend on my feisty
box. The totem page opens and stalls with 'transferring data from
www.whatever.com'. A right click on the totem page offers to open i
movie player and if accepted totem opens up and plays the video.

Firefox don't play videos
So, small wonder if the drive gets hiccups when given conflicting
demands.
It seems possible I can now reproduce this (provided I find out what
causes the drop to "old style cdda") - I'll have to see if I can get
even the other drive to do the same. ;-)

When Amarok crashes it tries to open kmail to send a bug report to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] But if kmail is not installed, the bug
report is lost (at least to me...).
I have had Amarok crash a few times, where it ends with complaning that
kmail is not in
I think this is actually related to kubuntu-artwork-usplash, but this
package is not offered as an option.

The problem is such that even if the kernel and kvm are only upgraded at
the same time, kvm will be broken until you reboot into the new
kernel... There isn't anything we can do about this until we freeze, so
I'm going to reject this "bug."
