Ok, seems I have been running into the wrong direction. LVM+Xen works on
x86, but fails on AMD64. I now think this has nothing to do with LVM at
all (seems logical as Xen uses 254 as character device, and LVM as block
device), but rather with blktapctl that does some weird stuff.

The debdiff is large, but the majority of it is the bundled copy of
mesa. I'm not sure what the status of mesa is, whether it can be removed

It only happens with mp3, I just tested. I tested a variety of
different mp3 files, and found the bug only occurs with specific ones.
I would attach those files if it wasn't copyright infringement.
I think it may be due to bad encoding of such files.

I'm sorry, but I need to reject the bug. The real solution is either a
policy decsision for this or using debconf in some clever way to support
progress reporting there. Its not really something that synaptic can and

search thru your /lib/modules/`uname -r` and make sure you only have one
copy of the TIFM modules It works just fine for me still. When this is

Installation hangs at 6% while configuring xserver-xorg-video-
siliconmotion. I copied /var/log/syslog from console with BusyBox to a
floppy disk. Here are the last 25 lines (sorry, LANG is german):

NVIDIA nForce 4 SATA RAID controller, and my two Seagate Momentus 7200.1
100GB hard drives in a RAID 0 array in Kubuntu Feisty.
Fedora Core 6 (which I also tried) does this automatically via the

This is fixed in the version of feisty. It is only triggered by packages that
have something like:
Provides: http-server
Conflicts: http-server
Replaces: http-server
Sorry that this bug is still there in edgy :/

My wife is affected by this problem too - in firefox, independent of
thunderbird.
Since the most recent update to firefox was applied (via the orange
update icon on the panel), she has been unable to access her on-line
banking.

When Adept raised the Nice error, cancelling didn't seem to totally
remove the debconf prompt.. Or rather, it possibly did, but the
subsequent attempts to test Adept brought the issue up again, only the
Nice warnings were no longer shown.

When there were just Linux partitions (the first time) I think that was
when it was OK at recognising the partitions once I refreshed the
program, but the second time they were an ext3 drive and an NTFS drive.

Hi all,
i had no problem with the current Fedora 7 test 2 LiveCD.
I have two SATA harddrives (and two CDROMs) and both SATA
harddrives were recognized properly (i could see them and
their partitions with ls /dev as "sda" and "sdb")
Further i could mount the partitions on the SATA harddrives.
