well, it's a bit more complicated. xine is compiling ffmpeg as always,
but the included copy of ffmpeg now has a check for variable alignment
on the stack, which xine disables. I have committed a patch upstream

LiveCD, as well as initial install gave me 1024x768. xorg.conf is attached.
At a suggestion I read on another (nv, but similar) bug report, I switched to a

Thanks. But in Desktop-Effects there is an option saying "shown
desktop in a cube" or something like that (I am at work now do not

Well, I don't know much about debconf and shell files.
But reading part of it, I 'feel' x11-common config script
is making it's own dialog and test for asking a nice value.
And it is not easy code, at least for me.
I attach extract_x11_common from the file
in previous comment.

Well, we had to remove sfs out of the way, so I cannot check it
recently. As far as I can recall, I tried with all possible permission
masks, but no luck.

Besides the corrupted scroll-bar, in Adobe Reader (7.0.9, tar.gz from
adobe.com) I've also observed somewhat garbled "minimize", "maximize",
and "close" buttons within the main window (see attached image). This
seems to affect to a different degree only cairo-enabled gtk2 engines --
ubuntulooks (0.

After upgrading from Edgy to Feisty, CPU frequency scaling stopped
working. It seems that Edgy was using speedstep-centrino.ko. speedstep-
centrino.ko was removed and acpi-cpufreq is supposed to be used instead,
but in my laptop acpi-cpufreq reports just:
