FYI I installed fedora 7 test2 in parallel with feisty. It has the same

Just wanted to say I can confirm this. Still happening on my Herd5 Feisty
install on a crappy old HP Omnibook 6100.
Possible (untested) solution is to go to System-->Preferences-->Sessions and
remove Network Manager from the startup items. This will avoid breaking the

We had rt2x00 until we switched to 2.6.20 AFAIK, and it never worked
from what I've heard. Atleast rt61pci didn't work here. rt2[45]00 have
always been legacy from what I know. Also, ralinks drivers are GPL'd
aswell. Where's the real problem with one broken driver to a little less
broken driver? :-

can check this under System-->Administration-->System Monitor, and check the

Ubuntu is 6.10, all updates (as of March 5th), nautilus 2.16.1.
I think a crash report wouldn't really work, since this is no crash,
it's simply Nautilus hanging (running at 100% CPU) and not responding
until I kill it.

The swap is configured on a 512Mb partition, same amount of RAM in my
machine. But I didn't notice changes in memory or swap use, although
if my memory isn't playing tricks, RAM usage was about 90% and swap
about 10%. I'll keep my eyes open case the bug shows himself again.

The crash is the fault of libqt-perl or libsmokeqt1, probably.
The poor UI presentation is the fault of whatever package is using
debconf to display that ...
