Verified no eject on two computers on herd 5 as well.
Do note, this is PCLinuxOS which has very legible print when booting and
shutting down. Feisty is nearly impossible to read.
I've also tried Puppy Linux and Simply Mepis, both of which are quite readable
booting/shutting down.

Similar problem, If I turn on Desktop-Effects in Feisty then open a terminal I
get the screen come up but no text.
If the terminal was already open then text displays as normal.
Also trying to switch tabs in Firefox with Desktop Effects on doesn't change
the display on screen.

That is not obvious at all to those who aren't familiar with the
ubiquity installer.
One possibility is to change the message on the the "Prepare partitions" page
to read:

For anyone else hitting this error, a workaround (if you truly don't
need anything on that partition) is to click on the "format" checkbox in
the "Prepare partitions" page.

Right now I am testing Xubuntu Feisty fawn, herd 5. My computer is an HP
Brio, and I installed from a live cd.
However when I click terminal, I think what happens is that X restarts
for some reason, because it shuts down X and I see the black screen with
the text, and then in

This happens to me as well, ATI X1400 on a Lenovo T60 with Feisty. The
best way to describe it would be that the hue is off and the images look
very blue. This happens with XVID and mpeg (Basically all the formats
I have available.)
What information can I provide that would be helpful?
