i put my machine on "suspend" last night. when i awoke this morning and
tried to log in, my screen basically looked like a TV with really bad
reception -- compressed, fuzzy, and vibrating back and forth. It kept

The applet still doesn't work for me, and it's definitely a python
migration problem. If I try to attach it to the panel I get the "The
panel encountered a problem..." dialog. If I repoint the /usr/bin/python
symlink to point to python2.4, the applet starts working again.

I also encounter this problem. I have a Radeon X1300. If I restore from
a backup, it works again. I tried the launching with the command
suggested by Mario, but it still gives me a floating point exception.

It might be unrelated, but gossip also exhibits this behaviour.
When clicking on a notification, a conversation window gets open, but it
does not get the focus and remains in the background flashing on the

I live the same problem. When my knetworkmanager is opened i can not
access to internet with kde applications. My dcop commands returns the
same results. By the way i have disabled wireless networks and i use
static connection to access the internet.

That's a problem (if it's really a problem) in Ubuntu, not launchpad or

become ambiguous.

I had the problem yesterday, when I posted the bug report. I don't know if
the bug still persists today, bug when I get home I can confirm this. I've
