my card is supported by fglrx (now at 8.33.6), so th

I can connect to msn here.
Can you still reproduce this?

The same happens in Xubuntu 6.10, observed on two very different
machines. Two more facts to add:
- Tried Slovenian layout because of the interchangeability, and it
doesn't work either.
- After installing with en_US layout, it is impossible to make the
keyboard work properly for Croatian or Slove

times when installing by d-i.
Also I disagree it has anything to do with the quality of cd-media, it
happened to me several times in a row, until I repartitioned the disk,
after that it was flawless every time afterwards.
Oh
It seems to be the same issue as upstream

Also, a bit more information: this is probably related to bug #77957,
which describes not being able to start X with fglrx 8.28.8+ and kernel
2.6.20.
I've tried modprobe'ing fglrx on 2.6.19 and each of the versions of
2.6.20, each with the same failure.

Almost every bug I've seen listed here, comes back when a new small
version release comes out! same with the acx wifi firmware in dapper...
closed fixed, then it never actually propagates to the end users. .. I
guess fix released is not fix-commited
