I want to confirm this bug for kopete 0.12.4, KDE 3.5.6, edgy. The
webcam works ok with other programs. In addition to the problems
described above I have a video lag up to several minutes. I'm quite sure

I've come to the conclusion that the sensible solution is to buy a new
graphics card.
For those with laptops I accept that that is not much help.
But it does not appear to me that anyone is actively working to fix this

I was using volume applet in the upper panel.
I ran "gnome-sound-properties" and by playing around and ticking "Enable
Software sound mixing (ESD)", I was able to restore volume keys
function.

- New entries vanish as described above, with the small diffrence that

This happened to me too.
I was using democracy player 0.95 which was announced about 20 minutes
ago with an ubuntu link. I follwed the instructions, sudo apt-get
upgrade, it installed no hassles, then crashed on start up.
It's using python 2.4 (hence different from the other bug reports).

I see no change in the "symptoms" after I've added "irqpoll" to the
end of the kernel line, assuming I've added it at the right place. It
appears that the kernel line takes up 2 lines, and I added irqpoll to
the end of the second line. Since you didn't say to do so, I didn't run
the lspci

I have the same problem.
My laptop: Macbook Core Duo
The last line I see is also something with usbhid.
Even Feisty Herd 3 doesn't work.
All 2.6.20 kernels don't work.
2.6.20-8 is the newest kernel I tried.
The first boot lines I get tell me that libgcc.so could not be found. Is that
an error

ATI X700 graphics card. Laptop will suspend via buttons on power manager
or when closing the the laptop, however, it will not resume from suspend
to ram. All I get is a black screen and only a hard reboot

Oh no; it looks like its back; I just upgraded to 2.17.7-0ubuntu1 and
its doing it again. Let's hope this gets fixed before Herd 4 is
released.

slightly more recent daily build, can't remember.
