I can't confirm that and I've no NFS setup to test. Did you do any
change to your startup script? Other people use NFS without any problem
so I doubt that's a default setup bug. Marking unconfirmed, maybe some

Im sorry i dont think you will have a /var/crash. it is set up by apport
and seems kubuntu doesnt include apport but it depends on kcrash to log
crashes, and i cant find where kcrash would automaticlly send

the network and it's likely than starting network to gdm is faster than
the dhcp reply then, not sure that's a gdm bug, you should fix your dhcp
