I looked at the source code, and that disabled dropdown is related to
the last check (in that window), "Always show a connected device if
possible".
If you uncheck "Always show a connected device if possible", that
dropdown gets enabled, so you can select the device you want.

I have to confirm this behaviour.
Furthermore not only the automount property gets ignored but also the mount
point as well as the mount options selectable through the mount properties
dialog.

This is really strange. Yesterday I spent some time to track this issue
and provide here more info, so I removed the custom udev rule to restart
hplip service and... it works !?!? There is no more needs to restart the
hplip service to use both scanned and printer feature.

if they fix security updates.
He said that this would be possible if the following points are the case
- New package has been tested ample on Dapper / Edgy
- New package does not ship with any significant UI changes

I don't think so.
I don't experience such problem neither on Windows nor Ubuntu 6.06 with
Firefox 1.5 installed on my second computer, however loading takes
longer. As far as I know, when I had Dapper installed here, sites like
Digg were displayed correctly also.

yeah sorry should have done that.
actually the problem was resolved on my 2nd try to install, when i choose
the 2nd option "format whole disk" on the install.
when it crashed i used the first option and put the slider up to 100%
now i just have to work out my dual-boot problems.
