Confirmed on the most current Edgy kernel and also on yesterday's Feisty
daily live cd. This bug NEEDS to get fixed. I can't use any recent

For SRU: Turning on AGP Fast Writes can hang the chipset on certain
combinations of AGP Radeon cards and northbridges. The fix is a small
patch to xorg-video-ati which disables fast writes unconditionally as
they are only a (small) performance enhancement.

One way to troubleshoot this issue would be to log out of your xsession
and switch to terminal. Then in the terminal you could reboot the
system via the command 'shutdown -r now'. You should then be able to

if you install dapper without an ethernet card and then you install one
and change hostname, sudo stops working and complains with this error:
sudo: unable to lookup HOSTNAME via gethostbyname()
This is because without an ethernet card the hostname you choose during install
sorry it's actually working with the Alternate CD, I burned the wrong
image.

I commited a patch to improve konqueror integration of klibido.
It works if you right click and open a nzb file via kde/konqueror.
It looks like it creates a little issue when opening the file via the client,
indeed.
I'll 'fix the fix' this week-end.

I have installed libungif4-dev in place of libgif-dev.
After running the ./configure script for Mplayer it know says that I now
have GIF support.
It is ok to install it this way but what happens when a package depends
on libungif4-dev. The alternative method has worked for me. I have

No that is not correct. After updating ubiquity I could not click on the
desktop install Icon and do a hard drive install. I finally went back to herd 1
and did updates. it worked herd 2 did not. I have a amd 64 cpu this is the
x86-64
version of feisty.
