I followed the instructions above and it works correctly (i.e. opens a
new window of firefox, as expected). I tried to test it though with
network-admin crash (which is I can reproduce reliably so getting a
.crash is not an issue) by doing :

This very well may be a bug however, Ubuntu's package of k3b does not
include the Monkey's Audio plugin and subsequently it is not supported.

This problem is probably due to pam_ldap using crypt hashes. Due to a
bug in pam_ldap (see http://bugzilla.padl.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306),
pam_ldap does not create md5 hashes, even if configured to do so.

Ah, I see, that was a crash from a program that ran as root. The code
that opens a browser as the user when apport-gtk is run as root is still
a bit buggy. So, can you reproduce the bug with:
$ killall update-notifier
$ sudo touch /var/crash/*network-admin*.crash
$ sudo /usr/share/apport/app

Have you got the bios setup as raid as first boot. This would then set
the first bootable device as hd0,0 (first raid), hd1,0 (second raid),
hd2,0 (first ide), hd4,0 (second ide). It may not be an option in your
bios it may just rename the raid as first boot assuming your running a
server or some
