The command line tool gpilot-install-file can be used to install files
such as pdb and prc to the palm device. The device must first be
configured in gpilot-control-applet (single click on the applet to start
this). Once done I found I could right click a .prc and choose "Open
with other applicatio
I can confirm this problem. I have read about it in other places, and it
doesn't sound like it is specific to any type of laptop.
But if it is, I have a Fujitsu Lifebook S2110. my brightness buttons used to
work (in dapper). I edited the brightness levels in gconf and nothing
happened.

The system resumes temporarily but then crashes. I can tell this because
if I hit caps lock all the time the led goes on and off until the kernel

It crashes on pretty much changing any themes at all. I had the gnome-
themes-extras installed and I chose any couple-few themes in succession
quickly, and firefox crashed.

The burning speed combobox gives a list with burning speeds, this list
is limited to the maximum speed of your cd/dvd recorder (as reported by
the hal). How are you able to select 100x, is this in the list?

I saw the thread before posting here, thank you though. This needs to be
fixed for average users however. Updates should not kill the system
(well X and whatever else depends on it).
