I found a way to install Xubuntu Dapper on a little machine ( laptop
IBM Thinkpad with 128 MB memory ).
The main problem is that ubiquity unmounts all swap parttions during
disk partitioning.
My solution needs two tricks :
1 Use a swap partition on a USB key,
2 Prevent ubiquity from unmo
I'm experiencing the same problem using Edgy.

Unfortunately not. I think it's only happened the one time, so I was
really hoping that the crash report would have enough information to
explain why. I don't appear to have the full crash report in /var/crash
any longer, so I suppose there's not much more to add -- it was probably
just a transie

This should eliminate the need to convert to MBR. d-i works for me on an
Intel Mac now.

I'm the glom upstream maintainer. glom 1.2.0 is very old. There really
is no reason that I can think of why it can't be updated to glom 1.2.2,
which has several bugfixes, including crasher fixes. Otherwise, I wonder
what is the point of upstream fixing things.
