ln -s /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/kde-essential.menu
/etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications-merged/kde-essential.menu
For me it works fine. Immediately without starting kde again.

when the sync will be done yep, we would have probably got it for edgy
if somebody pointed that there was a new upstream version available, no
problem though, that's going to be fixed
