I think there's a misundurstanding. This report is not about a portion
of Kubuntu/KDE that has not been translated by the translation team.
It's about a problem with the display of some portions of translated
text, in French, in Spanish and probably in all other non-English
languages.

Sounds as if the mixing devices get loaded in differend order, so that
they get differend device names. There is a way to explicitly assign the
order in which modules get loaded (and hence get named) - I just forgot
how to do that. But I think this is a Ubuntu bug, such stuff should not
happen.

I just gut the information, that the ALSA module soundcard problem
should be fixed in herd-2 (which is the current snapshot of feisty).

Chris, from reading the crash file I am guessing you are running Feisty
(either Herd2 or a daily build). Can you confirm this, please? Are you
having problems with any other commands (there have been broken libc6's
in Feisty).

I have experienced this problem too, on a Kubuntu Edgy. The application
that crashes the most leaving that message is firefox, but sometimes
Kicker or Kwin or Konqueror crash too.

First, please try this: Shutdown, disconnect your PPP device (the USB
device you use for your network connection), reboot, then try the
hibernate (there is a message questioning whether the device driver -
cdc_acm - can be su
The problem is fixed with the new gstreamer packages, upgrading
libgstreamer, libgstreamer-plugins-base and gstreamer0.10-plugins-
good0.10 to the current feisty versions fixes the problem, marking the

After installing via apt, it seemed to work fine, until I tried to login. then

Jeremy, thanks for your reply. I am using the standard ubuntu edgy
binaries for mythtv, transcode, ffmpeg, et al, and installing transcode
and the xvid libraries allows me to rip at the good and medium settings.
I understand your point on the suggests, and maybe that is indeed the
