I am experiencing this same problem; running it through Gnome Control
Center leads to a crash similar to what's been reported. However,

Apart from the directory path problem, which I also ran into, two other
issues with ripping with Good or Medium settings is that the mythdvd
calls transcode which in turn uses xvid to compress the video. If
transcode and the xvid libraries are not installed, it will rip the dvd
but not transcode.

install python-clearsilver again and got the same error.
Having never packaged anything, I'm not sure about this, but it seems
from other packages are organized that the python-clearsilver package

A friend of mine has some trouble to connect to the tunnel broker with
an older version of aiccu a few days ago. He has to upgrade to the last

A question if I may: when you say root partition, you mean the /
partition, and not the root user's home directory (i.e. /root). You see,
the installer will complain if you don't assign a / partition, but it
will be happy if you skip /root (it will just create a directory under
the / partition).
