Most applications which play with these sort of things do so by making
sure the declared size of the file system (which has to be read from the
file system) matches the actual size of the device. Otherwise, an
explicit EVMS meta-data check at the end of the original file system may

try to add the keyboard indicator applet to the panel I get an error
message like this: "OAFIID:GNOME_KeyboardApplet". When I was in Edgy
there was no problem with this.

I solved the problem for myself by deleting the file which is producing
these stupid notes with
sudo rm '/usr/lib/tomboy/Plugins/NoteOfTheDay.dll'
and
killall tomboy
After restarting tomboy, everything works out again. The "Notes of the
Minute" are not there anymore, but everything still works.

with the the default theme of Fx so I will update the description, then

Yes, it was in that state until I pressed CTRL+ALT+F1 and then back
CTRL+ALT+F7. When I went back from tty1 to Gnome, I could see the upgrader,
desktop, and some of the panel applets, but there were no menus, no time and no
logout icon in top-right corner, just plain panels with some applets.

I am using Ubuntu 6.10.
With "splash" enabled, the problem is, that there is no output on the
screen at all. So it is hard to tell what really is going on. The
harddisk is working in the beginning, and stops after a while, with just
occasional disk action after a minute or so.

(in libpam-foreground) is in effect. This may or may not be related to
this one. Either way, I would think that (part of) the solution is to
have nm-applet create the applet independent of communication with
NetworkManager.

Thank you for your bug. How do you start gnome-screenshot? Could you set
/apps/bug-buddy/run_on_crash to false with gconf-editor and let apport
get a crash file for that problem? It looks like bug-buddy doesn't work
fine with it

OK, but the nvidia-glx package's version in the repo is
1.0.9631+2.6.20.1-2, so everyone who upgrades to Feisty before the repo
is refreshed, and has a NVIDIA grafic chip, is going to encounter X
server failure.

I can verify that this bug is still there. I am using a T41 Thinkpad and
am experiencing the exact same. However, my company locked the setup
part where you can disable the predesktop area, so I cannot install
linux this way. Any hints/fixes?
