Not anymore (as it now conflicts with linux-libc-dev which is needed by
build-essential), but of course I had when I reported the bug since
build-essential used to depend on it (by way of libc6-dev).

It seems that the pmount package was not properly installed. Was there
an upgrade which was interrupted by any package failure, so that pmount
could not be configured properly? Please try

Ok, i did a quick test.
Creating a file does what is expected, it creates the file in nautilus with a
nice content displaying thumbnail.
Renaming it to a hidden file however, does not remove the file from the view,
but leaves the file name as it was clickable.

As I said before, it's extremely erratic and difficult to reproduce. The
contents in /var/run/console looked correct before, compared to what's on my
other functional Ubuntu boxes, and when it's recreated on reboot it's

in Dapper my machine could suspend to RAM (sleep) without a problem. I
just upgraded to Edgy and it no longer works.
If I suspend to RAM, it suspends as expected. When I try to resume, the
lights turn on as normal, but the display doesn't wake up and nothing
else happens.

I'm not sure if that's the same issue, or a linked issue, or a different
one. Did you have to select the correct program to open the file (say
the correct media player or editor) each time? Or did it always use the
correct program, but ask for confirmation first?
