The upstream bug seems to be doing nothing here. Also, it seems to be
addressed at a slightly different issue - this bug is that firefox
should be able to use the Gnome application chooser, whereas the
upstream bug is about creating a new application chooser, or something

I got a similar problem, after partitioning. I chose "Back", to get
another view of the partition list, and then everything hang. One of my
partitions (/dev/hda6, my "daily use system partition") was defined as
"unknown" (ext3) before I touch the partitioning, though I did not touch
that partition

was solved after I installed tetex-base, tetex-bin, and tetex-extra (as
suggested in the comments for Bug #42410).
However evince-thumbnailer still does not generate a thumbnail for .dvi

Jonathan, lowering the start up sequence of Skim didn't change anything
for me. After two weeks using Dapper and skim I still receive this
message at boot:
There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The
message returned by the system was:
Could not read network connection
I've tried copying them to /home as root, as well as trying to access
them directly from the browse feature on the bug page and neither works.
The web page tells me the files are empty and konqueror (running as
root) tells me it can't read the file?

This upload fixes the issue:

* New upstream version, UVF granted by Colin Watson:
- Add the ability to auto-join keyed channels (Ubuntu: #29856)
- Add the red-line unread indicator (Ubuntu: #30642)

According to upstream that should be fixed with the new version,
corresponding upload to edgy:

I remember checking and perhaps participating to translate this plugin
some time ago. It seems the rosetta translation has not made it through.
What can be causing this ?
There' s even a typo in the english text , "Per applcation settings"
should be "Per application settings"
