Scilab 3.0-12 included in Dapper repositories has severe font problems.
It appears to use a Tamili font, which makes it useless for those who
don't understand English words in Tamili characters (probably most of
us). An upgrade to v4 might be better.

I tried the Dapper i386 Desktop Cd live environment and experienced the

I have the Dell C610 with radeon 7000 graphic card and I got the same problem
(freeze) using "ati" and "radeon" drivers.

Please then consider updating the man text to include that information.
IMO it's a minor bug in the text that it calls either info or grub
inproperly. Newbie ubuntu users already have often difficulty with grub,
them thinking that it might be broken when it is not does not help

Hmm - if I try to NFS mount our servers the mount hangs - if I install
portmap and then start the mount it works.
So, if I don't need portmap why does it hang - either way I have a
problem where I can't mount NFS shares with the livecd; my fix is to

I simply don't get a system tray icon.
When I use the official version from azureus.sourceforge.net the system
tray shows up normally.
I reproduced the problem on two different PC's. (Only in Gnome though,
not in KDE)

Further, there should be only one way to set up network interfaces
:network-admin or network manager.
As I posted on another bug report, network admin can do some things but
miserably fails at others and vicevers

Thanks for your report. Due to some reliability problems with GRUB and
XFS, you need to use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot
filesystem. Bug 47848 is filed to note that the partitioner should warn
you about this up-front.

Perl 5.8.8 is the latest stable version of Perl, and it has been out for
quite a while now. The packages are available in Sid and Etch, and
bring several fixes and speedups to the perl interpreter.
Please include this version in the Etch release.

Perhaps I hadn't waited for the timeout (if it was several minutes
definitely); so it sounds like its trying to talk to portmap but eventually
timing out.
Either way, an nfs mount shouldn't take minutes, so please unreject this

Well,
Most of the other distro support this so I wonder why it is not
supportable.
My suggestion was to look in /lib/modules/ in order to get a list of the
installed kernel. Those kernels will be found in /boot
The actual algorithm does exactly the contrary : the kernel list is obtained
from /bo
