I installed Automatix. Then installed the Multimedia
Codecs with Automatix. Now ALL the dvd players work
wonderfully. Thank you for your help.

Try running sudo aptitude install libdvdread3 build-essential fakeroot
debhelper
After which you should be able to run sud
I probably wont be able to duplicate this till the middle of April as

in feisty the libdvdread3 file was missing the CSS script thus the end user
could not play certain files. a fix should be released according the bug
report.
You would have to install feisty and see if the package in question has been
updated.
If it has not then you will have to manually install
That maybe the case for you,however. the current version of feisty had the
*script* removed from the package thus rendering the installing useless to
the end user. That is what i was bringing to the dev's attention.
As for dvd's running them on a clean edgy install they ran fine for
me,however. I
not true. I've upgraded this laptop from when it was running dapper.
libcss was installed already, it was a libdvdread issue, when I
downgraded to edgy's version (of libdvdread) it works perfectly.
