Aspire 6920G. Same problem. Infuriating and brand new to Precise. If I boot up with the headphones already in the port, the sound only comes out of those. However, removing them doesn't make the sound switch to the speakers, as it used to and as it should. -- You received this bug notification

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected precise ** Description changed: Speakers stay on in Ubuntu 12.04 when headphones are plugged into the jack. (Fujitsu T2010, ICH8 chipset, ALC262 audio). All was working fine in 11.10. There also appears to be no way to mute the speakers
