Actually, uncertain if my issue is the same since my screen doesn't go
black when the system freezes. But my problem is similar enough that
the cause may be the same.

I have the same bug. Whenever I use firefox my system freezes.
Displays static image of desktop at the moment when it freezes. Mouse
won't move. No keyboard response. Unable to Ctrl-Alt-F2 into terminal.
Unable to remote ssh into machine and any ssh sessions that are open
freeze. Have to hold
I have what seems to be the same bug. I'm running xubuntu 12.04. I'm
playing a firefox video or a chrome video. Suddenly the screen goes
black, he video goes into a loop, the keyboard is dead, and I must
restart the computer. This happened twice after upgrading to xubuntu
12.04.

12.04 32bit: Problem occured wit Gimp, Softwarecenter, Firefox, Opera,
Chromium and Thunderbird. Half of the program screen is getting black

I have nVidia 64Bit 12.04. Not only does firefox freeze, the whole
system is frozen. Can not ssh into it both keyboard and mouse locked.
This has been ongoing since alfa release.
