LTS updates happen only after the new LTS has had one maintenance
release. This will be the end of August in this case. And normal updates
do occur as expected.

Ok, instead of searching for distribution upgrades to "Long term
releases". I needed to search for "Normal releases". This was hinted on
the troubleshooting paragraph on Kubuntu's pages.
Isn't Kubuntu 12.04 a long term support release after all?
