finally it works, and with full screen resolution.

Anyway, I've spent several hours to get full resolution on my monitor
(Samsung 243T, 1920x1200), with no luck so far. I've tried both drivers.

When xserver-xorg-video-intel is installed the X server still appears to start
(the screen goes black and I can hear the startup sound), but no output is
produced on the screen.
I should probably mention that I am using DVI output (via ADD2 card), so
possibly the driver incorrectly selects VGA o
Please try installing xserver-xorg-video-intel to see if it helps.

Btw., I also tried playing with the 915resolution tool, but this only
*reduced* the screen resolution even further (to 640x680).
