I have this problem too on ubuntu gnome 14.04 . A 10 minute suspend time
is just way too short. Is there another fix or way of extending to half
an hour or more?

I had this problem for months, and this fixed it for me

Unfortunately I had no success reverting settings to recapitulate the
bug, so I cannot isolate it.
