It's changed, but not solved. As root i get this error:

Solved.
The cryptsetup command must be executed as a root. The message is
confusing.
Before my upgrade I had SUID bit sen ON on the cryptsetup. I did this
long time ago and I forget it. This allowed me to execute this command
as a normal user. The upgrade process replaced that command and - of
cu
i already had a similar problem with an older version of ubuntu (i think
when upgrading to dapper), but i don't remember how i fixed it

This is caused by not all the required modules being loaded. There must
be some bug in the dependencies.
sudo modprobe blkcipher cbc aes dm_mod dm_crypt
Also, make sure that cryptsetup, libdevmapper and dmsetup are installed.
