Hi Sujo, The active port should flip between "Internal Mic" and "Microphone" as you unplug and plug the external microphone; but I've seen once that if and only if the gnome sound settings are open, sometimes "Line In" gets selected instead. Is this what you're seeing as well? ** Package changed

Resolved the issue. Its is not a bug actually. I noticed that, in the sound setting->input the recording device was set to Line-in instead of microphone. It could be a feature issue. My recording device was set to internal microphone before I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 Beta2. -- You received this b
