dd corrupts some .iso data res
Works for me: I just tried it here, with an USB stick I had around:
[cerdea-aws]cerdea@xango4-wired:~$ sudo dd bs=100M
if=/home/cerdea/ISO/precise-server-amd64.iso of=/dev/sdb
6+1 records in
6+1 records out
722776064 bytes (723 MB) copied, 9.50312 s, 76.1 MB/s
[cerdea-aws]cerdea@xango4-wired:~$
"dd
bs=100M if=/home/user/Downloads/target.iso of=/dev/sdb"
with and without sudo and with and without bs specified. i checked my
.isos again and they have the correct checksum.
my usb drives included 1 lacie key usb drive, and 3 low profile sandisk
drives.
