what the extension of the attachment should be but have called it .wire

I'd concur and make the following comments.
1. Does seem to affect all https apps
2. Secure shell in and out still works
3. Only secure pop3 is broken - insecure pop3 is fine.
4.I'm on 6.10 whereas the previous comment is for 6.06 it is the same bug
however.

The bug is not a firefox bug - it's a more fundamental one
because it can be reproduced by running poplib.py with
the same result : the connection times out.
To save you the tedious business of looking it up, have
reproduced the business end of poplib. py with some comments added :

Have all the new Firefox updates for Edgy installed today including the
libraries and this has not resolved the issue.
Please advise some tests to help determine the cause of this issue.
