I believe all my font settings are default but am unsure how to check:
$ gconftool --search-key-regex .*font.*
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/cursor_font = (no value set)
/desktop/gnome/interface/monospace_font_name = Monospace 10
/desktop/gnome/interface/font_name = Ubuntu 11
/desktop/gnom
Are you using the default font size settings? I don't see this. Maybe
the tooltip size is not adjusted based on the font size?
