I recreated the initrd by copying the http-file to a different name,
then removing the old files, renaming again to http and then symlinked
ftp to it and repackaged the initrd. That made it work again.

Should be fixed by the preseed 1.28 sync I just did, which uses dh_link
and so will create a symlink rather than a hard link. We'll see what
happens once I rebuild d-i against it.

the initrd causes this issue.
It contains the http and ftp files but it seems that these files are linked
(when i unpack it on another machine cpio raises a warning).
I corrected this issue on my machine by deleting the ftp and http file and
recreate them and then recreate the initrd.
