The problem is exposed by the driver, but I think you have a race
condition in your code. The dash should wait for the search to finish
before launching the application instead of running the first thing
shown when enter is pressed.

fglrx issue.

This is very repeatable on my machine. unity is 5.4.0-0ubuntu2. I last
updated end of last week.

I don't have this issue with the latest version of Unity in Precise.
Tried multiple times by typing something very quickly and then pressing
enter, but it always launched what I wanted.
