The same happends to me for WiFi connections.
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 but still using the /home directory from 11.04 and
reseted the gnome / unity settings.
The old WiFi connections were transfered anyway (maybe at the fist start) and
the described problem apears if I try to edit the old connec
