I can confirm the issue for Kubuntu 7.04. It would be nice for amarok
not to hang or libxine-extracodecs to be a suggested or recommended
package for amarok-xine.

I can confirm the issue... I just formatted my laptop, installed Ubuntu 7.04,
amarok and a lot of other applications...
When I tried to make amarok play .mp3's it through a popup with the headline:
No mp3 supp
