The compiz update I received todya (1:0.9.7.0~bzr2995-0ubuntu3) seems to
fix this issue. The changelog entry says they've rolled back a patch for
bug #931473.
My guess is that we should target the compiz pack
No, happens to me on nvidia. Also, see bug #933615, sounds like this is
a duplicate.

Followup to my previous comment: I got this issue on my laptop (a
Toshiba Satellite with Intel graphics) but can't reproduce it on my
desktop with Nouveau and integrated NVIDIA graphics. Maybe the issue is
Intel-specific?

I get this problem with right-click menus, menus in the Unity menu
bar...pretty much any kind of menu other than Unity quicklists. My
screen is now covered with these things. Unity 5.2.0-0ubuntu5 has other
much more serious problems, too...wow, this update was extremely buggy.
