Or, presumably OpenOffice/LibreOffice is not using gio (or any other
glib API that uses URIs). Using glib or gio APIs would fix it, I guess.

Actually I just noticed that a similar problem also happens with smb
mounted shares, however, instead of the "insufficient user rights"
message, a dialog asking for a username and password will pop up. I
think that the underlying problem is the same in this case; libreoffice
is presented with a "sm
This problem still exists in precise and may have something to do with
the path that is returned by the file save dialog. For example, if you
double-click a libreoffice file in nautilus, it is possible to make
edits and save the file again. Files opened in this way use a path that
goes through "/ho
