We could probably add this by default in kubuntu-default-settings. For
now (as of Kubuntu 9.04 at least) it is possible to add global shortcuts
for actions via the Configure Shortcuts dialog.

i do not run compiz, nor had i ever heard of it before researching this
problem in amarok. unless 6.06 came with compiz installed, the problem
for me is not that. my keyboard was having some problems though and it
could have been that, but it's not very likely. thanks.

amarok no windows+c shor
...or maybe compiz could not use shortcuts which are already used by
Amarok since the very day it supports shortcuts (which is defenitely
longer than compiz even exists).
Does everyone who reported to be affected by this issue run compiz?

Status: Confirmed =>
1. sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager
2. System->CompizConfig Settings Manager
3. Enhanced Zoom Desktop
4. Remove the shortcut for "Center the mouse" (mouse behaviour tab)
5. Restart Amarok
Maybe disable that shortcut (or find another one) by default?
I'm using Intrepid.

In Hardy here, the Win+C shortcut does not work either. I checked
"configure global shortcuts" and it is set for Win+C the way it should
be, but it still does not work. "Enhanced Zoom" in compiz is not
enabled either.

amarok no windows+c shortcut to pause anymore
https://bugs.launchpad.net/b
the most annoying part of this bug is that you can't set the pause to
anything using the windows key. I tried the win+n and a few other
combinations and nothing worked. However, now I have it set to cntrl+c,d
meaning i hold cntrl and hit c and d. This seems to work, but it really
would be nice to h
In the new version of kubuntu (hardy), the Win+C shortcut is still not
set at all.

I had the same problem and reached the same conclusion as spadger. Now
that I have disabled the shortcut in Enhanced Zoom Desktop, Win+C
currently works only when Amarok has focus. However, I assume it will
become global again after a reboot. I'll report back later if this is
not the case. Looks li
I had the same problem and eventually tracked it down to the Enhanced
zoom desktop feature of compiz.
I just went into compiz config settings manager and disabled the
Enhanced zoom desktop feature which uses the win+c keyboard shortcut to
centre the mouse on the screen and then re-enabled the win+
Hi,
I'm sorry for the lack of answer, (forgot to reply), I can confirm what
Giorgos Akrivas said, the shortcut is not set at all and it is the only
one in the list with no shortcut.
There is though a play/pause button with a shortcut XF86AudioPause, but
it's not the same action
And if I reme
Hello,
the answer to Andrew Ash's question (What is the shortcut set to in
Amarok's Settings->Configure Global Shortcuts ?) is: the shortcut is not
set at all, while the other shortcuts (Win+Z, Win+X etc) are correctly
set.
I reopened the bug, as I can give the information asked.
Thanks a lot, i

What may have happened was that the shortcut for pause was removed and
replaced with Win+X for play_pause. That means Win+X will both pause
and restart playing (unpause) the track. Since play_pause and pause are
different shortcuts, it looks like the shortcut label was removed in the
