Hi,
I readed around that ther's very few attention by ubuntu in compiling
OpenOffice source code.
I resolved every problem downloading the official .rpm package and "alien"(ing)
them.
Anyway It can't listen on 2002 port.

I have same problem, my distro is a:
Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 SERVER
with OpenOffice.org 2.2.0-1
The error is

Yesterday I did updates - I am not sure exactly what version I updated
to for OOo (newest as of 7/24) and SlideShow seems to be working now -
no crashes. This bug can probably be closed - I will re-open it if I
experience further issues.

Same problem here on kubuntu feisty.
The presentation is not properly displayed in the slide show modus. Double
layer theme backgrounds are not shown. Just the last layer. Though it is
properly displayed in the normal-editing-mode. Upon closing OOo it crashes.

After 101 MB update (March 8; 6 PM EST) Problem seems to have been
partially solved. SLIDESHOW works with 1.0-9631 nVIDIA driver.
Ooimpress still crashes on closing of the file.
Running "glxgears" from the command line results in very low FPS
performance on fullscreen window.
Here is output:
$ g
Uncommenting line (48) in /usr/bin/office did have a small effect on the
timing of the crash. When line (48) is commented out, the first slide
appears in the full screen of the slide show and then a crash occurs.
When commented "in" read by system; only a blank (black) screen and then
a crash.

I don't think he has to disable the driver. He can just uncomment line
48 of /usr/bin/soffice like so:
