Sometimes the tray icon isn't colored for new legitimate mail (i.e. not
junk). This has already caused me to miss the arrival of a few urgent
emails :(

Also, it isn't enough to simply mark such junk messages as "read" to
reset the icon; you need to restart Thunderbird to make the icon go
inactive again (assuming no new messages arrived).
