I can confirm the "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox evolution &"
workaround.

Confirmed. Downgrading firefox libnss (and maybe libnspr) with synaptic
is workaround. Since they were security updates I hope this will be
fixed soon.

I also have Dapper Drake 6.06 Long Term Support installed. The Firefox
update of March 1st does appear to be the culprit that caused major
Evolution breakage in our ranks.
I get the same error as the original poster and the workaround does fix
the problem. Though it is ugly.
