I just installed Jaunty (64-bit) on a new machine with a GeForce 9800GT
and the Free driver doesn't control the fan. The proprietary driver is
OK, but obviously not the ideal solution.

Just though I'd add that this is an 'issue' during BIOS bootup, GRUB,
etc (and in Windows XP until it has loaded the driver). So I suspect
this is really a hardware issue, but it would be great if we could work
around it!
