I encounter the same problem after installing Feisty:
I got a VIA KM400/VT8237 and I get a complete freeze when doing any 3d related
things (such as glxinfo), but i cannot find any error messages in the log files.
There is no way to shut down the pc properly after hanging, I need to switch

Hi everybody!
I solved the problem by installing the nvidia non-free driver.
The command "glxinfo | grep rendering" says "yes" and now wine don't make the X
crash.
So I'm not really sure these crashes are the result of a bug.
