I have fixed this issue in my app by triggering resize when window
resizes, not on widget allocation signal (which happens after drawing).
Also, please, update GSettings after resizing, due to high IO in gnome
shell or unity 2d.

i am able to reproduce it with 3.3.3 and also attaching a screenshot with it.
when we increase the window size status's become disabled.
