Thanks for following up Nanley.
Shortly after I reported the above bug, I did a rebuild with a clean
version of Dapper - and had no further issues (see note 13/03/2007).

I haven't tried Fiesty at all.
I have now reverted to Dapper (6.06) - clean install, and haven't had
the problem with Totem in this version to date.

The crash happened to snd_pcm_mmap_writei() from libasound, that's an
alsa-lib bug

Totem has been crashing regularly - or worse still causing a system lock
that I have to "crash" out of by resetting the computer. Alt-F2 and
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace didn't work, so no crash files were generated.
